VMware ESXi — the first type hypervisor it is installed on “bare metal” and does not require an operating system to be pre-installed on the hardware. ESXi is used on its own or as a component of a virtualization platform vSphere.

Equipment requirements

Because of its lightweight nature, the ESXi hypervisor requires minimal hardware resources. Specifically, ESXi 7.0 requires a host computer with two CPU cores, an x86-64 processor, and 4 GB or more RAM to run virtual machines
