SDC

SDC is a software-defined cloud computing model that enables software to automate and control the management and provisioning of cloud resources.

SDC contains a software layer on top of the underlying physical infrastructure. It abstracts the underlying physical hardware and performs all control, management and orchestration of cloud resources through software. SDC provides flexibility, scalability and automation in the management and deployment of cloud capacity.

SDC can also be implemented in a hybrid infrastructure consisting of a combination of public and private cloud resources.

In vStack, the SDC compute layer is named vStack SDC and consists of dynamically merged software-defined compute resources.
